This project uses a series of varied terraces to create intimate and expansive living spaces that extend the interior of this contemporary home to the wooded context of the site. Natural stone paving is used to communicate sense of formality and informality.
BALTIMORE_FARM
Shaped over time, this project creates familiar rural landscape features including meadows, thickets, and hedgerows. Landscape spaces are articulated by corten steel risers and retaining walls as well as board-finished concrete walls made with reclaimed timbers.
Overbrook_Residence
Located in a dramatic ravine, this project restores an eroded hillside left after the construction of a new home. In addition, the project creates intimate living spaces that are tucked into the space at base of wooded slope.
village_residence
Acknowledging its context in a historic neighborhood, this project contrasts traditional garden materials with contemporary forms and spaces. A graceful stair welcomes guest to a raised terrace yard that provides a sequenced entry space.
Newton_Garden
Located in Newton, MA, this project articulated clear lines between a traditional residential space and newly established woodland gardens. Reclaimed stone pavers are patterned loosely to define outdoor living spaces.
